La Mariposa California started out as a personal photography blog, even going so far as to be quoted in a Wall Street Journal article about my hatred of Instagram in 2011.
Much like its main author, the direction of this blog and website has evolved many times over. Between 2011 and 2026 this has been home to a blog, a photography portfolio, tarot reading business, a brief stint as a storefront, and a women’s community group landing page.
Its the year of the Fire Horse in 2026 and the universe has told us to saddle up again and make something of this site once and for all.
