I know I’ve mentioned my love of Bassnectar in one of the many posts about mainstream dubstep but I have to revisit this. Because I rely so heavily on pandora for all my music needs, I don’t hear new albums until a year too late from artists I love. Recently pandora has been playing Bassnectar’s 2011 album Divergent Spectrum, and what can I say, I’m in love. Its a cleaner sound than their previous EPs (Wildstyle & Timestretch) had and has some hip hop feel to it that I always love in Bassnectars music, and its even a little eclectic with a remix of a Gogol Bordello song (if you love Gogol Bordello you need to watch Wristcutters, a love story). Anyway, some favorites… (and no I have yet to hear their newest release from this last month)
