Help-Portrait

When my friend Jerome posted about how he wanted to organize a Help-Portrait community for my area I thought it was a really cool idea, but I wasn’t sure if I would be willing to really commit and help out.  I was unsure of my ability to really make a difference, portraiture is not my strong suit and make me feel kind of uncomfortable sometimes, and I willingly admit this.

This morning at church we were talking about not just being blessed but blessing others with whats been given to us.  I consider myself blessed with a talent that I’m nurturing and growing right now.  While we were talking about sharing it became apparent to me what I need to do to share my gift.  I don’t have lots of money, or even lots of time, but I do have a talent that I can use to help others, people who need portraits, people who don’t have the time or money to have a portrait taken of them and delivered free of cost.  Its a pretty small way to help out my community in the grand scheme of things, but I feel like its the one way I can help out.  If you or anyone you know of is in need, and wants their family portrait taken for the holidays, please let me know or contact someone involved in the Help-Portrait community know.
