what I’ve been working on Wednesday

Hi all, yes I realize its actually Friday but since I’m in my 2nd week of my new school schedule at work, today is my wednesday. So happy hump day to me.

I’ve been sorta quiet on this end for a couple weeks and I’d like to say I’ve been working on a ton of new stuff but really I haven’t, although I AM in the process of getting 4 rolls of color and 1 b&w roll developed/scanned today.

The real reason I’ve been so un-post-y is what I’ve been working on…is me. For the past 2 weeks, going on 3 now I’ve been finally getting my health back on track which means a proper healthy balanced diet & exercise for the first time in TEN YEARS. You read that right. I’ve yoga-ed and weight lifted here and there, but never for any real amount of time to actually make a difference, and definitely not 6 days a week like I have been doing lately. Every year I’d say I would do it and if I did it never lasted this long. Over the past couple weeks I’ve worked my way down from the calories I should be eating to maintain this overly luscious and curvacious body, down to just under 1600, which hopefully is enough to start making a difference in my pant sizes. My birthday is next month so right now I’m starting a big push to lose a couple noticeable pounds and HOPEFULLY, godwilling (please??), a dress size. Keeping track of all this is time consuming (but worth it), which is party to do with my focus being on diet and exercise. If you follow me on facebook or twitter you’d know that this is pretty much what I’ve been spending all my energy on or talking about, and hopefully it pays off. I never want to have to work out 6 days a week ever again, I’d much rather just do the work to maintain a healthy weight rather than work extra hard and be super strict to get down to a healthy weight.

So yeah, thats what I’ve been up to, I figured you guys don’t read photo-talk to hear about my exercise and eating habits which is why I haven’t really written about this until now. It feels good to come clean though.

    Keep it up, Valerie! About 2.5 years ago, I went through the same thing…clothes too tight and uncomfortable, so I focused and lost about 20 pounds and dropped a size. I’ve put about 5 lbs. back on, but haven’t gone back up in clothes size…your writing about your workouts is re-motivating me to get back to it. Thanks!

    1. thanks! its kinda hard to get an ugly shot in tahoe lol. and i think you look great but staying healthy is the key. i wanna get to that healthy point and be able to maintain and live an active lifestyle, i wanna be a good example for my future someday mythical kids so they dont follow in my footsteps. plus it wouldn’t kill to have a rockin’ body for once haha.
